  • Iron Maiden is suing 3D Realms
  • FFXIV Shadowbringers Media Tour embargo is over, gameplay news pouring in
    • P: I’m going to paint this with a broader brush due to circumstances.
    • “Homogenization” seems to be the word of the day, but nuance isn’t dead.
    • Curious how the recasting of healers as “pure healers” will affect solo content.
      • Instances as recent as 4.56 have DPS checks embedded in them.
    • Tanks: “Optimization” or “dumbing down”?
      • P: Idea shouldn’t be to remove responsibilities from the role, but WXHB was a solution to a problem that shouldn’t exist in the first place.
      • Remains to be seen if responsibilities were removed or redistributed.
      • “Optimization” would be tanks actively sustaining aggro in 16 abilities or less. “Dumbing down” would be letting tanks passively sustain aggro.

      • F: P.G.R. 5.
      • P: No hardware, Microsoft all-in on Xbox-PC interplay, PSVR software barrage, the unannounced Naoki Yoshida next-gen project (FFXVI?)
      • D: Exclusive games from Microsoft that aren’t your typical nitty gritty shooter or racing game, we’re gonna see hardware–that’s a given. I know more about Avengers than most our level should, and it’s not going well, so I hope I’m proved wrong. Final Fantasy XVI. Hope to see lots of spread out releases from Nintendo, and Golden Sun would put me over the top.
