SmashPad Streamkend with Pikmin 3 – August 10 at 2 PM EST

This week's featured game is Pikmin 3 for the Wii U.

To kick off the busy holiday release schedule for the Wii U, Pikmin 3 makes its much-anticipated debut and it is a good way to start this busy season for Nintendo. The sequel has been a long time coming and they've done a good job of adapting the Pikmin style of RTS to the Wii U's GamePad to make good use of its features. The game itself looks fantastic with the environments sporting a great amount of detail and the Pikmin are still as cute and charming as ever. Instead of Captain Olimar, a new crew of three astronauts have set off to explore a new planet that promises to give them an infinite supply of food for their starving people, but complications approaching the planet have caused them to crash land and become separated. You have to regroup with your team, befriend the local Pikmin, and use them to help you explore the planet to find food to send back to your people while trying to survive until through the many hazards that you will face.

It's time to take a look at the games I'm expecting to feature over the few weeks. Due to a lack of interesting games next week, I think Dragon's Crown will be the featured title for the August 17 show. The following show will definitely feature the crazy Saints Row IV. The final show of August on August 31 will probably feature Madden NFL 25, which is mostly due to there not being much else to show that week. As always, things can change as XBLA and PSN releases are announced that could make for better shows than what I mentioned above.
