After a two-year hiatus thanks to the ongoing global pandemic, Fanime was back at the San Jose Convention Center during Memorial Day weekend bringing a sense of normalcy back to one of the cities that has taken the coronavirus more seriously than a lot of the rest of the nation.
While I didn’t get to attend as press this year, I got to experience it from the perspective of a fan and was able to have a great time despite only being able to go during for one day during the four-day convention.
As usual, not only were there tons of booths, dealers, and cosplayers spanning all sorts of anime to admire — a lot of them were gaming-based, which shouldn’t come as a surprise simply due to the overlap you see in anime fans and gamers.
I didn’t get to get as many photos of the awesome gaming cosplay I saw, but here were some of my favorites.
