Retailer VideoGamesPlus tweeted today that they’ll be stocking new “Nintendo Selects” titles on March 11, 2016.

Notorious for hardly ever formally dropping prices on their games, Nintendo Selects are no different from Sony’s “Greatest Hits,” a collection of exclusive titles with lower prices, which are also given new cover art indicating their “select” status.

Though Nintendo hasn’t yet officially confirmed the move, we have reason to believe this will be officialized soon as this isn’t something for a source to normally lie about.

The list of games, which surprisingly also includes titles on the Wii, all currently on pre-order via VGP for around $30 CDN and the titles are as follows:

3DS:

Wii:

  • Donkey Kong Country Returns
  • Super Mario All-Stars
  • Super Mario Galaxy 2
  • Animal Crossing: City Folk

Wii U:

This should excite plenty of 3DS and Wii U owners that don’t have Ocarina of Time 3D and Pikmin 3 as they’ve presumably been out of print and have become quite rare.  In fact, a sealed physical copy of Pikmin 3 currently goes for more than as $99 on Amazon.

Either way you look at it, this is good news for Nintendo fans as The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD, Pokken Tournament, and Hyrule Warriors Legends are all anticipated March releases.

And for those of you collectors out there, now’s the time to get those games before they receive the Nintendo Selects label.
