Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is looking like typical Uncharted, and I don’t think anybody would have it any other way.
While the game was unfortunately not playable on the E3 showfloor, there was a theatre presentation that E3 attendees could check out as long as they made an appointment with the PlayStation Experience App.
Attendees were treated to a portion of gameplay that has yet to be seen, and it’s looking about as action-packed as anyone could expect.
The footage began with Chloe and Nadine on a narrow piece of rock overlooking a lush, green rainforest. In typical Uncharted fashion, both had to climb and shimmy their way through various obstacles before things got quiet–which means they’re definitely going to be attacked.
Not only were they being attacked, but they were also pursued by a huge tank, causing all sorts of havoc in their location. The scene was reminiscent of that scene in A Thief’s End shortly before Drake had to hijack a jeep. During this escape scene, we saw Chloe utilize the rope which added another wrinkle to Uncharted 4’s gameplay. We also noticed Chloe shooting while slipping and sliding, which I had no idea you could do.
Before long, the two escaped, only for the main antagonist to bust their way through and hold the two up at gunpoint.
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is having a standalone release on August 22.
