Nintendo has finally confirmed the amiibo functionality for the upcoming remake of Twilight Princess.
The game’s amiibo functionality is there primarily to make the game easier or more challenging, but it also unlocks some hidden content as well.
By scanning the Wolf Link amiibo on the Wii U GamePad, players will unlock the Cave of Shadows, a new dungeon containing challenges that seem to only be completed in wolf form.
The Link and Toon Link amiibo will restore arrows, while the Zelda and Sheik amiibo will restore your health.
Players that are looking for a challenge can scan also their Ganondorf amiibo so enemies can cause more damage.
The amiibo line of products have been a big boom for Nintendo, as they’ve reported their biggest year of profits since the launch of the struggling Wii U. While the company has done a better job maintaining stock as of late, enthusiasts have still had trouble finding certain character’s figures.
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD is scheduled for release on March 4, 2016 and the initial shipment will include a Wolf Link amiibo, which will also have functionality with the upcoming Legend of Zelda title for Wii U.
Update: As last night’s leaks are now considered official, we can consider all this information now confirmed by Nintendo.
