As soon as I was pitched to preview an “unannounced game from the creators of N+,” I was in. I didn’t have to watch a trailer, even though I ended up seeing it at Day of the Devs. The Newgrounds OG was definitely peak when it came to flash precision platforming, and now seeing it go multiplayer is absolutely nuts, and I’m glad I made time for it at the show floor.
The trailer above explains what this game is perfectly. I don’t know what actually goes in between cooperative and competitive, but N Plus Infinity Times Two has a lot going on. In my 30-minute demo appointment, I got to try a bunch of different maps in two multiplayer modes.

The first mode was a race mode, where all you have to do is get to the endpoint of a map as quickly as you can. We started off vibing with some easy levels where all you have to do is fall safely (because fall damage is a thing) and get to the end, but that’s where the twist comes. After the first person finishes, it really becomes a race to the finish, because the competitors that finished become rockets that are there to end you. At the end of each round, you’re awarded points for how quickly you finished and how many coins you collected on the map. Oh yeah, the coins–again, they’re just there to up your score, but they’re also sort of a distraction from you getting to the finish. It’s up to you if the juice is worth the squeeze, and in a 30-minute demo, it always is.

The other mode we played was Ninja vs. Hunter. In this mode, two players are ninjas, and two players are hunters. This is essentially a game of tag. In this mode, all you have to do is avoid contact with each other. The wrinkle here? The hunters can also become those rockets we talked about in the race mode at will. They also respawn if they die. After a round, teams switch roles, and the team with the most time at the end wins.
It was an absolute fun time, and one thing I wanted to note was that in my over 20 years in games media, this is the first time I played with the PR guy representing the game. Shoutout to Otto for making the experience even more fun!
N Plus Infinity Times Two is slated for release in 2027 on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC. It won’t be for a while, but it already feels pretty damn polished. Still, with all the stuff the trailer says they’ll have, I’ll definitely have it on my radar when next year rolls around.
