Now that we’re a few weeks into the new year, announcements have started pouring all over the gaming industry regarding game releases we’re excited about in 2017. Some were great, such as the official launch date of the Nintendo Switch. Some were not as great, such as the official pricing of the accessories of the Nintendo Switch. Just kidding. Or not.
Like we’ve done so many times before, we surveyed members of our staff to see which games they’re looking most forward to this year. This isn’t always an easy list to make. Games are always delayed, like Zelda. And then there are the games that are inexplicably cancelled (we’re looking at you, Scalebound).
Of the staffers that participated, 34 games were nominated. Unfortunately, we can only go at length about 10. That being said, I don’t want the other 24 games not getting and credit, so here they are:
- Guardians of the Galaxy – A Telltale Series
- Crackdown 3
- Resident Evil 7
- Dragon Quest X
- Ni no Kuni: Revenant Kingdom
- Gran Turismo Sport
- Drift Stage
- Tekken 7
- Shenmue HD
- Nex Machina
- Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite
- Injustice 2
- For Honor
- Project Octopath Traveler
- Ultra Street Fighter II
- Super Bomberman R
- Splatoon 2
- Sea of Thieves
- Absolver
- Cuphead
- Xenoblade Chronicles 2
- South Park: The Fractured But Whole
- Star Wars Battlefront 2
- Ghost Recon: Wildlands
While these games won’t get their time in the sun in this segment, these are definitely games we plan on covering as we get closer to release. But alas, time for our list!
