[Steam Next Fest] Hands-On: “Vampire Crawlers” deals a wickedly irresistible hand early on

author image by David Rodriguez | Android iOS Mobile Nintendo Switch PC PlayStation 5 Previews Steam Xbox Series X | 0 Comments | 26 Feb 2026

Put bluntly, Vampire Crawlers chokeslams boredom through a glass table. The demo is impressive in its simplicity, but requires a hell of a lot more of you than Vampire Survivors did. In that sense, poncle could be on track to deliver a follow-up worthy of its still budding name and elephantine reputation. Can their lightning strike twice?

[Steam Next Fest] Hands-On: Is “Cleaning Up!” really fun?

author image by Danreb Victorio | Nintendo Switch Nintendo Switch 2 PC PlayStation 4 PlayStation 5 Previews Steam | 0 Comments | 26 Feb 2026

The Steam Next Fest demo of Cleaning Up!, which you can play now, features four levels that provide just enough to get your feet wet. There’s an apartment, a castle, a museum, and a cafe, each providing a new gimmick to differentiate itself enough. Only one of these levels qualifies as challenging, but again, it’s a demo.

REVIEW – The return of “City Hunter” is welcome and historically meaningful, but lackluster for what’s on offer

author image by David Rodriguez | Nintendo Switch Nintendo Switch 2 PC PlayStation 5 Reviews Steam Xbox Series X | 0 Comments | 26 Feb 2026

With all this in mind, I can’t generally recommend City Hunter, but if you do want to see what TurboGrafx-16/PC Engine gaming had to offer by means of a cult product and you have a surplus of disposable income, have at it.

REVIEW – “Super Bomberman Collection” is one of the most explosively joyful shadow drops in recent memory

author image by Danreb Victorio | Nintendo Switch Nintendo Switch 2 PC PlayStation 5 Reviews Xbox Series X | 0 Comments | 26 Feb 2026

When Super Bomberman Collection was unveiled during this month’s Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, I got wide-eyed. Ever since I got my hands on Mega Bomberman on the Sega Genesis during the unfortunate but memorable days of the Sega Channel (yeah, I’m that old), I’ve been a big Bomberman fan. Little did I know that game would end up being the high point of the series for me until now, more than three decades after I was introduced to it.

REVIEW – “Disney Afternoon Collection” is out again for people who are Bonkers about having these games on Switch

author image by Kayla Merritt | Nintendo Switch Nintendo Switch 2 PC Reviews Xbox One | 0 Comments | 25 Feb 2026

Two new games, Bonkers and Goof Troop from the SNES, headline this release of Disney Afternoon Collection. Is it worth potentially double dipping if you already own this compilation on another platform just to get these two additional games? That depends on your nostalgia for the cartoons these games are based on. For everyone else, Disney Afternoon Collection is a great compilation of classic 8-bit games.

[Steam Next Fest] Hands-On: “Akatori” still needs polish

author image by Chris Selogy | Nintendo Switch PC Previews Videos | 0 Comments | 23 Feb 2026

This feels like a demo for a game that still has a lot of work to go before it’s ready for launch, so I hope the developers get the time this demo needs to fulfill its potential.

REVIEW – “Under the Island” is a fun, cozy take on Zelda’s 2D formula

author image by Chris Selogy | Nintendo Switch PC PlayStation 4 PlayStation 5 Reviews Xbox Series X | 0 Comments | 16 Feb 2026

Under the Island is presented as a cozy version of that style of action adventure game, which doesn’t really result in the sort of game that comes to mind as a cozy game. It’s more like a Zelda game that isn’t super aggressive to challenge your skills and has a lot of variety to its dungeons to subvert your expectations.

[Steam Next Fest] Hands-On: I had to hold myself back from playing too much “Fallen Tear: The Ascension”

author image by Danreb Victorio | Nintendo Switch PC PlayStation 4 PlayStation 5 Previews Steam Xbox Series X | 0 Comments | 12 Feb 2026

I first saw Fallen Tear: The Ascencion after I received a press release promoting a trailer for the game. When I found out it was being developed by a studio in the Philippines, it had my full attention. My roots are important to me.

In 2000, Nintendo released the original Paper Mario, an instant hit for RPG and Nintendo fans alike. While recent entries have left many fans disappointed, its legacy has spawned several titles from indie devs that have attempted, and generally succeeded,…

REVIEW – “Nickelodeon Splat Pack” is a nice trip back to when we had lower expectations

author image by Kayla Merritt | Console Nintendo Switch PC Platforms PlayStation 5 Reviews Steam | 0 Comments | 11 Feb 2026

Sometimes it’s worth it to just feel like a kid again who doesn’t have strong opinions about intuitiveness and just loves cartoons because they exist. Despite the four games in Nickelodeon Splat Pack being of mixed quality, if you grew up with the classic Nickelodeon cartoons then you really should get this game.

REVIEW – “4PGP” is a tribute to arcade racing through a very console lens

author image by Patrick Mifflin | Nintendo Switch Nintendo Switch 2 PC Reviews Steam | 0 Comments | 05 Feb 2026

The state of the arcade racing genre in 2026 is fascinating to say the least. Founding fathers Sega and Namco have been on a milk carton, apart from the surprising inclusion of Virtua Racing in the Sega Ages lineup over on Nintendo Switch, or the random Ridge Racer drop on Hamster’s Arcade Archives or the PlayStation Classics line. This has left the genre to a bunch of indie studios that have done a great job paying tribute to those old classics with games like Formula Retro Racing: World Tour, DDI Rally Championship, and most recently, Super Woden: Rally Edge. Tribute and succession are two different things, however, and as fun as a lot of these games can be, there’s a certain noticeable gap between them and the games that inspired them.
