[SmashPad Demo Fest] SP Plays -“Replaced”

Replaced is a 2.5 action platformer coming to PC and Xbox on April 14 after many delays and it has a demo out now to give us an idea of what to expect from this game. The first thing that I noticed is how beautiful the game is with some of the best pixel art I’ve seen in a long time as you’re in this alternate version of 1980s America after nuclear catastrophe has struck it and the Phoenix Corporation seems to have taken ahold where our character is introduced.

You get platforming that is a mix of what we saw in Inside and Uncharted along with combat that is rooted in what the Batman Arkham combat with some dodge rolls and finishers that work pretty well. There’s a good bit of stealth as you avoid the searchlights of corporate guard riding the rails in the background, which was pretty simple and easy for the few minutes of it that are in here.

There is about 20 minutes or so of gameplay to this demo that is limited to what I assume is an early chunk of the game when you’re introduced to a new character who has a ride to get you out of town that made for a fun end to a great look at the game.
