SmashPad Plays: Wall World 2 Brings Tower Defense and Mining Together On A Giant Wall

We got to check out Wall World 2 on PS5 thanks to a code from the publisher and have been enjoying our time with the game, which mixes tower defense and mining fun in a similar manner to games like Dome Keeper and the first Wall World. The key difference here is that you’re controlling a mechanical spider vehicle that moves up and down the wall of this Wall World as you find different mining spots to grind your way through them before the next wave of enemies shows up on the surface to attack your ship. Each run is more of a mission you’re hoping to complete and progress through the game to make it feel less like a roguelite and more like something you should be able to beat at some point with upgrades to your ships, weapons, and mining tools along the way as the story progresses a bit. Luckily, the game gives you a quick story recap of what happened in the first game that seems like they left a nice hook for what will happen here as you’re dealing with a giant kraken creature that is the cause of most of your problems, though there also might be some other complications as you get a Venom-style tease during the intro. Wall World 2 is out on everything, so check it out wherever you’re at.
