This week’s featured game is Batman: Arkham Asylum for the PS3 and Xbox 360.
Taking another opportunity to celebrate a current generation classic, I’ll be playing Batman: Arkham Asylum on the PS3 this week to see how it holds up compared to its sequels that have come out since then. This is the original Batman game from Rocksteady Studios, which actually didn’t have much good buzz circulating around amongst the press or gamers as close as a month or so from launch. It really wasn’t until a few weeks before launch when review builds were sent out that people actually started believing that Rocksteady pulled off the impossible by making what was easily the greatest Batman game out there. This game just features a great combat system that borrows heavily from the system that Assassin’s Creed introduced years earlier with some great stealth and detective gameplay in between when you get to explore Arkham Asylum yourself.
Leading up to the launch of the PS4 and Xbox One, there still isn’t much for me to cover over the next couple of weeks as I wait for more interesting titles to get released. Look for next week’s show to be another look at a classic of this generation.
