This week’s featured game is Charlie Murder for the Xbox 360.
Summer of Arcade for 2013 has come and gone and much like last year’s promotion, all four titles were not hits like the big annual Xbox Live Arcade promotion was well-known for in previous years. It started off strong with Brothers: Tale of Two Sons and Charlie Murder garnering a lot of good will from fans and reviewers alike, but Flashback and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows have not done nearly as well to cap off Summer of Arcade 2013. Charlie Murder is the latest game from Ska Studios, who made the gritty The Dishwasher action games previously that you might be familiar with. Their new game features a similar art style but a much more ambitious design as a beat-em-up in a similar fashion as Castle Crashers, but starring the titular punk rock group as they save the world by fighting enemies, leveling up, collecting loot, and more in the epic battle of good versus evil.
Taking a look ahead at the schedule for September’s shows, I can definitely confirm that Rayman Legends will be the focus for the September 7 show. Puppeteer will be the featured game for the September 14 show. Grand Theft Auto V takes over for the September 21 show while Wonderful 101 will take center stage on the September 28 show to cap the month for us.
