With the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One launches occuring within the next two weeks, we wanted to take a few minutes to look at what games we are anticipating the most for these new systems.
With the imminent launch of the PS4 and Xbox One, we took a look at what the heck has been announced for these systems and figure out what we’re most excited to check out at launch and beyond. There are a good amount of launch titles on the list, but they only start to shine with the games coming in 2014, and in some cases beyond that. The exciting thing is that we still don’t have a very solid picture of what’s coming out for either of these systems from the second half of 2014 on. That seems to be Sony’s strategy with their radio silence on what Naughty Dog, Sony Santa Monica, and Media Molecule are working on.
The list below was created by polling my fellow SmashPad staffers and myself on what we’re most excited for and culled the list until we had a good group of 20 titles to showcase. Surprisingly, Sunset Overdrive from Insomniac Games was the most anticipated game on the list with three votes and ten others received two votes. Looking at exclusives, we have eight PS4 exclusives on there while the Xbox One is right behind it with seven exclusives of its own, which leaves us with five multiplatform titles that are on both. To give you a better idea of what these games are all about, we’re including a trailer for each title so you can watch them.
